We know trusting anyone with your child’s photo is a big deal. Here’s exactly what happens to it.
Deleted once the character is made.
Once the character exists, the original photo is gone from our systems.

Photos are only ever used to create your child's character. We never use them for marketing, and we only send them to the service providers who check the photo and draw the character for us.

Your photos are encrypted whenever they're sent or stored. We use them only to keep things safe and to make your book.

What a wonderful idea. I created my book with the help of my 5 year old nephew. Harry chose the picture he wanted to use, the story theme and then waited patiently for it to load so we could read it together for his bedtime story. Magical! A forever keepsake. I am quite particular about the books I choose for our bedrime but this blew me away. My little one’s face lit up when they saw they were the main characters in their story. Not just a name swap but the character illustration looked like my children. Your photo is used only to create your child's illustrated character. Once the character is created, the original photo is deleted. Only the illustration remains.
Photos that never got as far as a character are swept up too, on a schedule.
Photos are never used for AI training, marketing, or shared with anyone else — we're built to the strictest UK GDPR and ICO Children's Code standards.
